32nd Annual 5 Mile Road Race

The race start and finish areas will start out in front of the Montrose Kuehn Haven Middle School.  The registration will be inside the middle gym.

What’s new this year?

· We will not have race t-shirts for this year’s race.  We are going to have drawstring backpacks!  These are in the planning stages, so I don’t have color, logo or pictures available yet.

· I am also in the process of getting a different timing company from what I used in 2008.  Let me know if you have a favorite timing company.

We broke 300 in 2008 and I am aiming for 400 in 2009!  So, bring your friends, family, co-workers, acquaintances, etc.

The Montrose Blueberry Festival 5 Mile Road Race is endorsed!  How wonderful to have the endorsement of the Governor's Council.

Bryan and Bradley

Do you know what that means?

This means that you qualify to enter the 2009 lottery for the Mackinac Bridge Labor Day Run 2009.

Don't miss your chance!  Register for the opportunity to be one of only 300 runners selected to participate in the sixth annual Labor Day Run over the Mackinac Bridge.  Requirements are simple.  Just run in a Governor's Council endorsed running event. *  You must be 18 years old by September 7, 2009 to be eligible to enter the lottery for this fun-filled event.   Endorsement by the Governor's Council on Physical Fitness, Health and Sports, confirms that the event is a well-planned, high-quality event that considers the safety of the participant, promotes physical activity and has earned the Governor's Council seal of approval.   Winners of the lottery will:

· Enjoy a pasta dinner the night before with fellow runners.

· Kick off the traditional Labor Day Mackinac Bridge Walk.

· Have an opportunity to serve as a fitness ambassador.

· Receive a commemorative t-shirt.

· Be listed in the official 2009 Event yearbook.
